Glossary

Speech therapy is a world full of big words. Let’s break down some of the big words.

Dysphagia: Swallowing impairments that can you can be born with or acquire after a life changing event

Augmentative-alternative communication device: a special device used to generate spoken words at the click of a button. Can be very robust!

Aphasia: language loss typically after a stroke but can be a result of other neurological changes

Phonological Processes: Speech sound patterns present in the years we learn to speak that should eventually go away

As time goes on, more special terms will be added to the glossary. I will add blog posts on special events, certain terms, and highlight accomplishments from us at Kinetic Speech Services.
